Nintendo is lowering the price of its base Switch model across Europe ahead of launching OLED versions next month. The Nintendo Switch price is now 299.99 in Europe, 30 less than the previous price of 329.99. In the UK, Nintendo adjusted the base model to 259.99, down 20 from the previous price of 279.99.
The new price can be found in the Nintendo store and Eurogamer notes that it has not yet been applied to other retailers such as Amazon. Given the small changes, it’s likely to be more of a currency-related price change, but it comes just under a month before Nintendo’s Switch OLED goes on sale.
After carefully considering a number of factors, including exchange rates in Europe and the upcoming launch of the Nintendo Switch OLED model, we decided it was the right time to change the Nintendo Switch’s European commercial price, says a spokesperson for Nintendo in a note. to The Verge.

The OLED model will be priced at 364.99 in Europe and 309.99 in the UK. This small price drop creates a slightly larger price difference between the OLED and the original models, all while the OLED version is mostly about screen tweaks rather than any significant hardware upgrades elsewhere.
Nintendo Switch OLED goes on sale on October 8, and during our first look at the device we found that it’s a small update that makes a big difference. The larger, brighter screen, a new kickstand, and speaker improvements are the main additions, along with an ethernet port on the dock.
