How to view and delete your Amazon Prime Video viewing history

To view and delete your Amazon Prime viewing history, go to the Prime Video Settings page. You can only view and delete your Amazon Prime viewing history on a web browser, not the Prime Video app. You can delete titles from the Continue Watching carousel by clicking the Edit button.

Amazon Prime keeps track of the movies and shows you’ve watched so it can recommend other titles that might interest you. In theory it’s a useful feature, but if you share an account with someone who has different tastes than yours or if you watch a few episodes of a show before deciding it’s not for you, it can lead to irrelevant recommendations.

There is a way to remove titles from your Amazon Prime viewing history and Keep Watching list. Here’s everything you need to know.

How to view and delete your Amazon Prime viewing history

1. Go to Amazon and log into your Amazon Prime account if necessary.

2. On the left side of the banner at the top of the Amazon home page, click the Prime Video tab.

3. On the Prime Video page, click the gear-shaped Settings icon in the upper right corner and select Settings from the drop-down menu. You may need to enter your password on the next screen.

4. Click the Viewing History tab at the top of the page.

5. To remove a movie or show from your watch history, click the Delete from Watch History button to the right of the title.

Quick Tip: You can’t view or delete your Amazon Prime viewing history in the Prime Video app, but you can remove your search history. To do this, go to the My Stuff tab of the Prime Video app and select the gear-shaped Settings icon in the top right. On the Settings page, tap Clear Video Search History and select Yes in the popup.

How to remove items from the “Keep Watching” list

1. Go to Amazon Prime Video and log into your account if necessary.

2. Locate the carousel. Continue Watching.

3. Click the small Edit button on the right side of the list.

4. Click the “X” button on the titles you want to remove. When done, click Done in the right corner.

4. Alternatively, you can place your cursor over a title in the carousel and click the Hide This button, which looks like a circle with a line through it.
