It is officially wrestling season in Blacksburg as Virginia Tech Wrestling opens its double list of contests on November 19th at 7pm and November 20 at 1pm at Carillion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.

Here are five things to know before this weekend’s action:

Gifts and promotions on deck! It’s 80s night back in Cassell on Friday night, so dress themed up, introduce yourself and go wild. The first 250 fans will receive a Hokies Wrestling shirt, there will be pre-match photo stations and fan engagement activities during the doubles. Fans have returned to Cassell! It’s been a long time since fans packed Cassell for a full-on tech wrestling match, but we’re back. Debuting in 6th place in national polls, the Hokies are poised for a special season fueled by the return of three All-Americans, a national and world champion, a world medal and a formidable transfer. With a talented roster and one of the best coaching staff in the country leading the way, Hokie’s faithful will make a difference as Cassell becomes a tough environment for the opposition. A friendly reminder about parking. The parking for the event on Fridays and Saturdays is open to the public. Neither season tickets nor payment will be required AFTER 5pm on Friday evening. Parking for Saturday’s game is also free. For questions, please email [email protected] or call 540-231-3200. Cashless concessions and matchday improvements will go into effect this season. Virginia Tech’s athletics department previously announced several elements of the game day experience that fans can expect at Hokie’s home wrestling doubles this season. The list includes mobile ticketing, cashless concession stands, discounted prices for fans, alcohol sales, and more. Click here for a detailed guide on what to expect in Cassell this season. In line with current guidelines for wearing masks at university events, Virginia Tech will require masks regardless of vaccination status for all indoor events scheduled for the Cassell Coliseum. Such events include wrestling matches, men’s and women’s basketball games, and early fall 2021 ceremonies. Proof of vaccination or a negative test will not be required to attend an event at Cassell Coliseum. Masks can be removed when people are actively eating or drinking.
