Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport ‘Sur Mesure’ kicks off the customization service

Bugatti has launched a new personalization service, called Sur Mesure. To celebrate the opening of the department, the company also unveiled its first project: a bespoke customer commission for the 1,479hp, track-oriented Chiron Pur Sport.

The special Chiron Pur Sport Sur Mesure is inspired by the famous 20th century racing driver from whom the hypercar takes its name: Louis Chiron. He piloted Bugatti’s first racing cars, the most famous of which won the 1931 French Grand Prix in a Type 51 marked with the number 32.

This unique Chiron features the same race number on its doors, which was hand painted by the Sur Mesure team pinstripe. The baby blue paint was also specially blended for the project and was designed to match the color of the 1930s racing Bugatti.

The nods to Bugatti’s historic racing successes continue inside. The race number “32” is embroidered on the hypercar’s headrests, while the center console has a new “Grand Prix” inlay in black anodized aluminum.

The door cards are another innovation and feature an intricate “EB” pattern, which required the Sur Mesure department to develop a new stitching technique.

Bugatti made no changes to the car’s chassis or powertrain. It features the same 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, producing 1,479 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque. It is paired with the same seven-speed automatic transmission and transmits thrust to all four wheels.

Lightweight components designed by Bugatti for the Pur Sport have remained, which means it’s 50kg lighter than a regular Chiron and has slightly closer gear ratios to help it feel more eager on a racetrack. Top speed should be the same at 217mph.

We are so engrossed in this creation that we intend to make many of this customer’s ideas available to more of our customers with the Chiron Pur Sport. “
