ZEISS Cinematography will once again participate in the Hollywood Professional Association’s annual Technology Retreat in Palm Springs this February. At the HPA Innovation Zone booth, the team will showcase the CinCraft Mapper metadata application, the natural extension of XD technology that ZEISS premiered last May. CinCraft Mapper provides frame-accurate lens shading and distortion data, allowing VFX artists to achieve a realistic and precise cinematic result, without relying on a lens grid. Additionally, visitors can also check out ZEISS Supreme Prime, Supreme Prime Radiance, Cinema Zoom and CP.3 cine lenses.
ZEISS will appear on the main stage as a presenter at Thursday’s seminar on integrating lens metadata into a virtual production workflow, hosted by Snehal Patel. In addition to his position as Head of Cinema Sales for ZEISS Cinematography, he also leads the SMPTE subcommittee on essential camera/lens metadata for VFX and virtual production. With a film background and extensive experience introducing new technologies, Patel will cover the ins and outs of lens metadata capture into the virtual production pipeline.
You can learn more about the Cincraft Mapper on the Zeiss website.
