Have you ever wondered what new appliances would look like in your home or if you made the right color choice after making a purchase? Thanks to Samsung’s Bespoke Home Virtual, consumers had the chance to have an enriching experience interacting with the latest Bespoke appliances through a realistic tour around a virtual model home at this year’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS).
The Bespoke Home Virtual is a 3D home appliance experience in a virtual reality (VR) space using advanced digital twin technology. It allows users to wander around interacting with them to get a sense of how Bespoke appliances would look inside their home in various configurations.
Bespoke Home Virtual, unlike similar indoor VR experiences, allows users to freely explore places as if they were in a video game with a whole new level of freedom. While in the past VR spaces were limited to rendering certain sections, Bespoke Home Virtual uses new technology that opens up the entire space so users can view from all angles without limitations. While browsing, users can zoom in on product highlights to compare appliances in detail through direct interaction. In addition, the real-time rendering technology used features realistic light renderings that mimic the behavior of real-world light, bringing the scene to life like never before.
Participants in the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show 2023 were able to touch, through a teaching service, Bespoke Home Virtual for a truly engaging experience. Modeled to reflect an average American home, the 3D environment offered consumers an easy and intuitive way to experience custom products and create different moods in the home with customizations. During the event, the whole experience was also shared simultaneously on Samsung’s 140-inch 4K display, The Wall, at the Samsung booth.
Users first had to choose from three distinct interior styles, including Modern, Transitional Light and Transitional Dark, then were free to move around the fully decorated space. By traversing three interior designs, users were able to gain a deeper understanding of how the appliances would be paired with different textures such as marble backsplashes, wood or stone tile floors, and light or dark walls.
More than just an overview, attendees were encouraged to get up close and personal with a suite of bespoke products, including refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers, as well as inductions and ovens. Users were able to open the doors of the units to check out features like the built-in water dispenser inside the fridge and the drip pan in the oven, switching between vibrant colors and detailed finishes. Together, the realistic representations of interiors and exteriors have allowed users to fully enjoy the amazing features that make Bespoke products truly bespoke.
For this year’s KBIS, Samsung has enabled users to interactively experience Bespoke using a revolutionary and immersive 3D technology, offering consumers a whole new way to touch the latest Samsung home appliances.
