Google Bard can now use your device’s precise location to provide better local results for your queries. When you go to Google Bard, you may see a popup dialog saying “To get more relevant answers, you can also choose to allow Bard to use your device’s precise location.”
The notice. Here’s what you might see when you log into bard.google.com:
You may also see another message asking you to confirm that you want to share your location with Google.
Best local results. Google said you should see “more relevant responses about restaurants near you and lots more about your area.” I’ve tried it and it doesn’t seem to work for me, yet, but it may still be rolling out.
Because we care. Local search is a huge business engine for many small local businesses. If people use the Google Bard to find places to eat pizza, get a haircut, find a dentist, etc., it could drive additional traffic to those businesses.
Of course you would think you need to be on Google Business Profile for this to work, so make sure your customers are set up in Business Profiles and do some research, see how it differs from Google Search.
