Nigeria: FCC Chairman Dankaka Debunks Allegations of Certificate Forging

Federal Character Commission (FCC) Executive Chairman Hajiya Muheeba Farida Dankaka refuted the allegation of certificate forgery brought against her by a group under the auspices of the Youth and Leadership Initiative Group (LYGEL), describing the allegation as false and contemptible.

The group alleged that the FCC president forged some of the academic certificates she presented to the Senate during its screening and called on the National Assembly to re-examine the documents.

The group also called for his immediate resignation.

In a statement personally signed by the chairman of the FCC and made available to the media, she said the allegations are false, despicable and hopelessly fueled by underground motives.

The statement reads: “Recently the media has been inundated with publications by a faceless group hired by unscrupulous individuals to tarnish the image and integrity of Federal Character Commission executive chairman Hajiya MF Dankaka for reasons which are better known to them.

“The allegation would ordinarily have been dismissed with a wave of the hand because the so-called group is only formed on paper to settle accounts unknown to their masters. We believe, however, that it is necessary to hand over the clocks to the hour so that the general public can know.

“Hajiya Dankaka attended Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria where she obtained a degree in insurance, then went to Bayero University in Kano for her Bachelor of Business Administration. She also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria.

The group had also alleged inconsistencies in the powers that Hajiya Dankaka submitted to the National Assembly before his appointment as executive chairman of the FCC.

The FCC president, however, reaffirmed his position that the certificates in question were obtained before his marriage, which necessitated the name change.

“It is not surprising that when a woman gets married she takes her husband’s name and the case of Muheeba Dankaka is no different.

“Dankaka, however, finds it surprising that the sponsored group did not find it necessary to find out, either on physical request or relying on FoI, which necessitated the name change,” the statement added. .

According to the statement, in recognition of her contributions to the Nigerian economy as an entrepreneur par excellence, she was awarded the National Order of the Niger (OON) award in 2012 and the National Productivity Award in 2020 by the President Muhammadu Buhari.
