Why critics of American men’s basketball need to shut up

Dan Beyer: The United States ends up giving up the first game of their Olympic run and I just have a message for all those who are angry with Team USA, not happy with Team USA, and disappointed with Team USA for their loss today Don’t worry about Team USA Basketball. We expect them to win all the time and we automatically expect a gold medal. What happens when they win a gold medal is we don’t celebrate and applaud them, we just say okay, it’s planned, it was great, but when they lose we are on their case like you wouldn’t believe. I just can’t get over the fact that everyone now seems to care, but if they won it would be just ho-um, no big deal. We want to put them under the microscope and criticize them for doing all of this, it’s such a carry over from the NBA when we criticize them as individuals and how they carry the team. Honestly, I don’t care if they lose every game. I’m proud of my country for these guys who play and serve for the American team on the basketball court. They should win, but I’m not going to be mad at them because they didn’t beat France in a group like everyone was crazy. WE DO NOT CARE?? (Full audio above)
