Miles Ranger, 52, of Old Orchard Beach, died Thursday morning after crashing with another car on I-95 in Sidney

SIDNEY, Maine Aggressive driving resulted in the death of a man Thursday morning in Sidney, police said.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Shannon Moss said in a statement Thursday that the two-vehicle crash happened on Interstate 95 just before 10 a.m. aggressively driving a van and attempted to squeeze into the passing lane past Brian Landry, 58, of Fairfield.

Moss said the soldiers discovered that the dangerous lane change caused the two cars to collide. The Ranger truck lost control and rolled over several times in the halfway line. According to Moss, Ranger was not wearing a seat belt and he was thrown from the truck.

Ranger was conscious but in critical condition when emergency crews arrived at the scene. He was taken to hospital, where he died.

Landry was not injured and his car was slightly damaged, Moss said. Traffic on I-95 was reduced to one lane for about an hour due to the crash, but reopened.

The national police continue to investigate the accident.

Delta Ambulance, Sidney Fire Department and the Maine Department of Transportation assisted state police at the scene.
