Until recently, we heard endless criticism of the NHS Covid tracking app for not doing the job it was designed to do.
Now it looks like the app is being criticized for functioning too well.
We have seen the same with the Covid ‘traffic light system’.
The government has been blasted for not acting quickly enough to close our borders to travelers from India and is now criticized for being too hasty to tighten restrictions on arrivals from France and the Balearic Islands.
The government is in the classic situation of being damned if it does and damned if it does not.
And I’m sick of hearing British holidaymakers like those forced to return from the Balearics when the Covid situation has changed, whimper and whimper when they have only themselves to blame.
Unless they had lived on another planet in the past 18 months, they must have ignored that disrupting their vacation plans was a strong possibility – but they chose to ignore the warnings and go from there. the front anyway.
