A day after Trevor Bauer’s administrative leave was extended again due to allegations of sexual assault, news broke that a previous protective order had been filed against the Dodgers star pitcher by another woman.

Last year, a woman in Ohio applied for the temporary order due to repeated threats from Bauer after he allegedly assaulted her, according to the Washington Post. At the time, Bauer was a member of the Reds, although the woman’s sexual assault allegations against him date back to 2017, according to The Post, when he was casting for Cleveland.

On August 2, 2017, the woman was at Bauer’s apartment when she showed police photos of her with bruises on her face and blood in her eyes, according to The Post, which obtained the police report. of that night. She told police the injuries resulted from a previous encounter between her and Bauer, who she said hit and strangled her “during sex without her consent,” according to The Post.

Bauer contacted authorities that night saying the woman “assaulted him and refused to leave.” The woman arrived at his apartment drunk and “hit him several times”, according to the police report. The woman was at least 10 inches shorter and about 80 pounds lighter than Bauer, according to the police report, according to The Post. At the time, the woman was an adult, but was not of legal drinking age. The police report says the woman denied hitting Bauer and then showed police photos of his injuries, allegedly from the previous assault. Nothing became of her allegations against Bauer, according to The Post, but she was arrested for underage drinking, although the case was later dismissed.

Bauer’s attorney, Jon Fetterolf, and Agent Rachel Luba have denied that Bauer injured the Ohio woman, saying she made an “unwanted, unsolicited visit during which she was belligerent, strongly intoxicated and physically assaulted. [Bauer]. ”

These documents obtained by The Post show the aggressive tactics that Bauer’s attorneys and representatives used to rebut the claims of the California and Ohio accusers. The Post obtained the photos the woman showed to police on August 2, 2017, as well as additional photos of the woman that showed bruises on her cheeks and around her left eye. Her lawyer, Joseph Darwal, said the injuries came from when Bauer punched her without consent during sex in 2018, although The Post could not independently confirm the setting for this alleged incident.

The Ohio woman applied for the temporary order against Bauer in June 2020, which came out of ex parte proceedings, over threatening messages he allegedly sent her. “I don’t want to spend time in jail for killing someone,” one post read, according to The Post. “And that’s what would happen if I saw you again.”

In an undated Snapchat post, Bauer reportedly wrote: “As the only reason I would consider seeing you again is to choke you unconscious, punch you in the face push my fist into your skull f — you and give one kick you come out naked. And obviously I would never do something like that to anyone. So I can’t even enjoy the one thing that I sometimes enjoyed with you. “

Representatives for Bauer told The Post that they “strongly question the validity” of Snapchat messages since the launcher no longer has access to them.

According to the report, Bauer also threatened to send a video of himself and the woman having sex to one of his family members, according to the woman’s former lawyer.

His representatives said in a statement to the Post that the two men were in a consensual relationship “intermittently” for about three years and the woman was suing him. Fetterolf and Luba also told the Post that the allegations of physical abuse were “categorically false.”

The woman then voluntarily abandoned the order against Bauer.

“What started as our client’s attempt to protect herself – first by filing a protection order – has turned into months of added fear, stress and continued threats,” said Darwal and Kendra Barkoff Lamy. , the woman’s spokesperson, in a statement to The Poster. “In the end, our client decided that pursuing any legal action was not worth the potential public disgrace and baseless lawsuits threatened by the Bauer team. She never wanted this audience.

Bauer is currently under investigation for separate sexual assault allegations, and the accuser, a California woman, has filed an ex parte spousal violence restraining order – the same type of order as the woman. from Ohio – June 28. A hearing on the restraining order is scheduled. for August 16, by Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.

The 30-year-old is accused of assaulting the California woman twice earlier this year. The woman in question said Bauer committed multiple non-consensual acts after what began as consensual sex.

She alleges the pitcher strangled her unconscious and anal penetrated her without consent in April. A similar incident reportedly happened again in May, when the woman said Bauer strangled her unconscious. When she regained consciousness, the pitcher repeatedly hit her on the head. She ended up in the hospital with severe trauma.

Bauer has not spoken publicly about the California woman’s allegations, but on Saturday he posted a statement on Twitter denying the Post’s report, saying the newspaper was trying to create a “false account” of him.

“The Washington Post has spent the past six months delving into my life and attempting to contact hundreds of friends and acquaintances with whom they suspect I have some form of romantic relationship,” Bauer said.

“Despite my representatives providing a plethora of conflicting evidence, document statements and background information showing the disturbing behavior of this woman and her lawyers, the Washington Post chose to ignore much of this information and publish a salacious story spreading defamatory statements, false information and baseless allegations of a woman who not only harassed and physically assaulted me, but also tried to extort millions of dollars from me last year in exchange for her refusal to make false statements.

The Dodgers pitcher has been on administrative leave since July 2 under the league’s joint domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy, as the league and the Pasadena Police Department continue to ” investigate the allegations of sexual assault against him. The league and MLBPA can agree to continue to extend Bauer’s leave.
