Below is a letter from the principal of the Wilmington school, Dr. Glenn Brand:

Dear Parents / Guardians, Families (of current and former Wildwood students) and staff,

As you may recall, earlier this year Wilmington Public Schools hired an independent investigator to investigate allegations of misconduct made against staff at Wildwood School during the school year. 2020-21.

The investigation is now complete and we have asked the investigator who conducted the review to share a summary of his findings at a meeting of the Superintendent on Monday, August 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Wilmington High School in the Large Groups Training Room.

Following the Investigator’s Report, I will provide updates on the important steps WPS has taken to ensure that our internal policies, training, manuals and reporting procedures are in line with our central goal of ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all WPS students.

For health and safety reasons and to ensure we have sufficient seating for community members, we are asking individuals to register if they will be attending the 8/23/2021 community meeting. (Editor’s note: The registration deadline was Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 5 p.m.)

For those who cannot attend the meeting in person, WCTV will broadcast it live and provide a recording of the meeting on its website (www.wctv.org).

Yours,

Glenn Brand, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
