Andy Murray launched a new rocket on Tuesday at USOpen conqueror Stefanos Tsitsipas, complaining that the Greek player took longer to rest than billionaire Jeff Bezos to reach space.
Key points: Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic advanced to the second round with an impressive victory.
The Briton was furious when Tsitsipas took a break that lasted almost eight minutes in their first round clash in five sets on Monday, which he said disrupted his game and influenced the result.
Murray said after the game in which Tsitsipas also took a medical time out for a foot injury that he had “lost respect” for the Greek world number 3.
Murray, the 2012 US Open champion, was still seething a day later.
“Fact of the day. It takes twice as long for Stefanos Tsitsipas to go to the bathroom as it does for Jeff Bezos to fly in space. Interesting,” the 34-year-old Scot tweeted on Tuesday.

Tsitsipas, 23, stressed after the match that he had not broken any rules because there is no time limit for toilet breaks.
“If he has something to tell me, we should both talk about it to kind of understand what went wrong,” he said.
Tsitsipas’ younger brother Petros responded to Murray’s Twitter post: “I never expected this kind of behavior, from a so-called tennis legend!”
Murray had previously called his opponent’s restroom breaks “nonsense”, saying he had been warned by his team of such tactics before the game.
In the fifth set, where Murray broke in the first game, the former world number one could be heard shouting “this is cheating” to his dressing room.
Tsitsipas took the break of more than seven minutes before the deciding fifth set. He will face 44th world champion Adrian Mannarino of France in the second round on Wednesday.

Australian Ajla Tomljanovic wasted no time in securing her place in the second round of the last grand slam of the year.
The 28-year-old Australian who played her first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon beat American wild teenager Katie Volynets 6-3, 6-1 in a dominant performance.
Volynets, who was playing in her first main draw in a slam, was no match for the Australian, who dominated on serve.
Tomljanovic not only never allowed a break point in the win, but she lost just three points for the game on her first serve.
Herreward is a meeting in the second round with the Croatian Petra Martic, 30th seed.
The pair haven’t played since 2011, but Martic holds a 2-0 lead.
