Some Liverpool fans on social media are absolutely disgusted after it emerged that Takumi Minamino was injured on international duty.

Why are fans so worried about a Minamino injury? He’s not a regular holder for the Reds, and he shouldn’t miss it too much.

Well, the answer lies in the depth of Anfield’s outfits, and with Roberto Firmino also out of action, there could be some issues on Merseyside.

Fortunately, Diogo Jota is still in good shape and shooting, but if he were to fall with an injury or a suspension, the Reds should call in Divock Origi or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and with all due respect he is difficult to win a Premier League Title with one of these two in mind.

We don’t yet know the extent of Minaminos ‘injury, but that only highlights the clubs’ lack of activity in the transfer window as they have failed to add another striker to their ranks.

Frankly. I wouldn’t blame Klopp if he walked. It’s the mess we’ve never had from a window attacker. We all knew it was going to happen. https://t.co/C5b0dH3PWb

We will have an injury crisis up front this season at 100%. We left it short. That makes 2 injured! https://t.co/AfDEektrob

Hahahaha. Firmino and now Minamino. It has already started. Incoming disaster. What’s worse is the inevitability of it all. We all knew it was going to happen. https://t.co/4KA8NQVj68
