Huskers slammed for handling final order as Sooners survive 23-16

In a game that started slowly and totaled just 10 points at the break, Oklahoma and Nebraska ended their game on Saturday with another classic from the long-standing rivalry. The Sooners came away with the 23-16 victory but had to fight to the end for it.

After some empty possessions for both teams in the second half, the Sooners returned to the end zone on a short pass from Spencer Rattler, closing a 10-play, 80-yard run to go up 14-3. The Huskers were also scoring in the third quarter, but the next point was blocked and came back for a score in Oklahoma. It looked like the end for the Huskers, but they weren’t over yet.

Behind 23-9 at the end of the fourth quarter, Nebraska scored a touchdown to make it a one-possession game, then got a defensive save to get the ball back with just a minute to go. But two sacks and two short assists from Adrian Martinez put Nebraska back and made sure the comeback didn’t happen. The Oklahoma defense held on and preserved the team’s perfect record, while Nebraska fell short and suffered another loss in a game that ended until the end.
