Russia has dismissed all allegations of Moscow’s involvement in the mysterious Havana Syndrome attacks on US personnel in embassies around the world. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday (November 25) dismissed claims from a press article that Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director William Burns warned Russian intelligence agencies of the consequences if Moscow were to be the cause of the health complication. According to the Sputnik report, Peskov also said there was no way Burns would raise the issue with Russian diplomats.

The Russian news agency quoted the Kremlin spokesman as saying: This topic was by no means raised by Burns in conversations with political interlocutors here in Moscow and it was not raised with the head of the state. [Vladimir Putin]. As to the content of Burnss’s conversation with his colleagues in special services, I have nothing to say here – this is not public information.

The only thing is that here we can certainly reject any allusion, assumption or statement regarding the alleged involvement of the Russian side in these cases – we have nothing to do with it, he allegedly added.

According to US officials who spoke to the Washington Post, the CIA director issued a confidential warning to the Russian Federal Security Service as well as the country’s Foreign Intelligence Service during a meeting in Moscow in November. . Apparently the meeting was about the organization of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine.

Burns reportedly said that such consequences would only occur if Russia was found responsible for the attacks that plagued US embassies around the world. According to The Hill, the remarks of the CIA directors also indicated that the United States still does not know who is the author of the mysterious health problem occurring mainly among diplomats and staff members. Burns reportedly told Russian officials that if they were behind the Havana Syndrome attacks, it would be unacceptable as the health complication causes brain damage and trauma.

US sets up task force to investigate Havana syndrome

Burns’ remarks came against the backdrop of the announcement by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that a task force had been set up to investigate what officials are now calling abnormal health incidents (AHI) knowing that the attacks could be coordinated. US President Joe Biden also enacted the Havana Law in view of US personnel injured during the AHI.

Havana law provides for financial compensation for members of the State Department as well as the CIA who suffer from a brain injury, officials have suggested could be targeted attacks by microwave. In a statement, Biden said officials, intelligence officers, diplomats and military personnel around the world have been affected by abnormal health incidents.

“Some are struggling with debilitating brain injuries that have curtailed their careers in the service of our nation. Tackling these incidents has been a top priority for my administration,” said the US president. Notably, the suffering victims of Havana reported hearing a loud sound and also feeling some kind of pressure in the head, and also expressed problems such as dizziness, unsteady gait and other visual disturbances.
