You’re To Blame overtakes rivals in Queens County

Sunday’s 8th Aqueduct Race is the $ 125,000 Queens County Stakes for kids three and up, covering a mile and an eighth on the Main Track (time of posting – 3:37 p.m. EST).

No. 1 YOU’RE TO BLAME (9-2) has been a quality runner for some time. He won the Greenwood Cup (G3) at Parx in 2018 and has placed in numerous stakes races over the years. He scored once in 2019 and was shut out on his next sixteen starts. He returned to beam at Saratoga earlier this summer and scored again at Belmont Park on October 2. He was taken out of this latter event by Rob Atras and he comes out of a solid show finish in the slop. He never really cared about wet runs and maybe could score them affordably on fast terrain.

The No.8 Mystic Night (5-2) was part of the exacta in his first four starts this year, and was last seen finishing 4th as a downed favorite at Keeneland. It’s a good distance for Chad Brown’s lightly run gelding and looks like a good place to try out stakes company.

The No.6 Empty Tomb (7-2) comes out of a top-notch win with odds of 22-1 and he got a decent one-mile speed rating that day. The early-pressing type is winless in six attempts at this distance.

Backsideofthemoon’s number 2 (6-1) is 0 for 9 this year and it looks like Father Time is catching up with the friendly veteran. You’re To Blame caught him on October 2 and should be placed forward on a course and distance he enjoys.

The No.3 Bourbonic (9-2) takes the blinders off for Todd Pletcher and the second year colt will likely be the last one ahead. The late runner is doing some of his best jobs at Aqueduct.

No.4 Olliemyboy (15-1) didn’t seem interested in the wet runs in his last pair for Rob Atras. He won a pair of fast tracks at Fair Grounds earlier this year.
