As the college football qualifiers approach, Georgia’s director of football operations has reportedly resigned. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Chip Towers were the first to report the news.
Josh Lee has been appointed Georgia’s director of football operations since 2014. The timing of his decision is interesting, to say the least.
Lee allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to at least one of his direct reports over a period of time, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The University of Georgia’s Equal Opportunities Office opened an investigation after the allegations surfaced.
In a statement sent to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia said Lee had resigned to “pursue other professional opportunities.”
Georgia did not provide any additional comments on this situation.

The Atlantic Journal-Constitution attempted to obtain documentation on this matter, but this request was quickly rejected.
According to the AJC report:
However, in its response to the AJC’s request for open documents, the UGA cited a state policy [OCGA 50-18-72 (a)(8)] which keeps “material obtained in the course of investigations related to suspension, dismissal or investigation of complaints” exempt from the examination of open files for up to 10 days after the conclusion of the case.
The Georgia Sports Department has not announced whether the investigation into Lee’s alleged behavior is complete or not.
The Bulldogs will return to the grill on December 31 for their semi-final clash.
