The divorce between the Cleveland Browns and Odell Beckham Jr. has been messy, though the polarizing sleight of hand remains adamant he has nothing but love for his former team.
Beckham is off to a good start with the Rams, who he landed with after being released by the Browns in November. Beckham has already caught four touchdowns with LA after scoring just seven for the Browns in 29 games.
“It’s been awesome,” Beckham told ESPN Rams reporter Lindsey Thiry. “Over the past two years, I have felt deprived. I definitely missed the end zone, and it just hasn’t been as easy and smooth as it could and should have been. I’m someone I should score for once or twice in every game. I feel like I can get 100 yards in every game.
Some saw this statement as a shot against the Browns, where he struggled to fit in and find some sort of rhythm with quarterback Baker Mayfield. Beckham wanted to dispel any feeling about this and left a comment on a story that claimed he was casting “shadows.”
“Zero shadows,” Beckham tweeted. “I have nothing but love in my heart. God is good, I’m just thankful…. No story here.

Beckham’s exit from Cleveland was messy
Regardless of what Beckham says now, he forced himself out of Cleveland after the trade deadline in what turned out to be a very messy affair.
His father, Odell Beckham Sr., posted a video on NFL trade deadline day showing all the times Mayfield missed the shots. He also went to the comments section and trashed Mayfield again, even commenting on his contractual situation. The Browns barred Beckham from training for a few days before releasing him after renegotiating his deal.
Beckham maintained that his release had taken him by surprise and that it was not his intention, sharing his point of view with Monday Night Football secondary reporter Lisa Salters.

“He told me he didn’t really want to talk about what happened in Cleveland and what led to his release there, but he said every detail was crazy to him,” he said. said Salters. “He said, ‘I have no words for it, it stinks, it was never planned,’ and he said he could never have imagined anything.”
Baker Mayfield admitted the drama was hard to deal with
Mayfield has been the target of a lot of criticism this season – including from another Browns’ dad to Kareem Hunt Sr. Mayfield is playing injured, but it really showed at times. Mayfield has missed two games this season, but only managed 2,825 yards, 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Mayfield was asked about the criticism and negative attention he has garnered this season and said it was harder to avoid than in the past.
“I would say yes, but only because part of that drama earlier in the year was in the building, and it wasn’t just directly outside,” Mayfield said, apparently alluding to the issues with Beckham. “We had to manage some things internally, and that’s OK. We did, and now we’re here, so that’s what matters. “
Despite their struggles, the Browns still have a shot at making the playoffs if they win and get a little help. Cleveland needs Baltimore and Cincinnati to lose this weekend to – ironically – the Rams and Chiefs, respectively.
