Shane Beamer dunks on CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd after bowl game review

The South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 38-21 at the Duke’s Mayo Bowl Thursday in Charlotte, NC. During the post-game festivities for South Carolina, head coach Shane Beamer was given 4.5 gallons of mayonnaise (a “celebration” people were very happy to see).

Well, CBS Sports national college football writer Dennis Dodd posted a tweet that has since been deleted, poking fun at the bowl game – and many bowl games in general – and the mayonnaise bath.

Here’s a screenshot (and below you’ll see why Beamer led to Dodd’s tweet being deleted):

Shane Beamer forced Dennis Dodd to delete his tweet.

“My God, we’ve reached the point where the hype of a condiment poured on a grown man goes like programming. When we have the discussion of the suitability of the bowl, I’ll start here.

And Beamer blew up Dodd in response:

How does it feel to be so miserable all the time? For a sport you “cover” @dennisdoddcbs… Pray for you

I still remember in July during the SEC Media Days when you said that the CEILING for our team was 2 wins… Keep bringing this expert “analysis”

That’s a record in the “Coaches calling members of the media on Twitter” department.

Dodd did not respond to Beamer’s tweet (but Dodd deleting his own tweet is more or less an answer).
