Letter: Critique of “greatness” based on assumptions | Letters

In response to Samantha Carbury’s letter, I was overwhelmed by her negative assumptions about Thelma Homer. Conversely; I found Thelmas’ articles, The Greatness of America, inspiring. I was lucky to be born and educated in the most attractive country in the world. I am grateful for all the opportunities this country has presented to me.

What’s more; I have some guesses about you, Samantha. But, I would like to remind you that all countries in the world have negative as well as positive aspects regarding their history. So, are we staying in the past or are we trying to correct the wrongs and move forward? I chose the latter option.

You, Samantha, attacked the messenger with wrongful accusations. Claiming to know Thelmas’ research skills? What facts do you have that she regurgitates her Fox News information? You assumed you knew the writer and proceeded with a character assassination.

As mentioned above; I have my guesses on you. First of all, I concluded that you are a Democratic snowflake with horrible writing skills. Second, you hate America and blame white people for all the evils in America. Third, you are ignorant and intolerant of all points of view, but only favor your own point of view. Finally, you are ungrateful and unhappy and you base the judgments of others on emotion rather than on facts.

To conclude; America was and is great. I am proud to be an American. More; assumptions about people can be used against you. Samantha, put your facts online before you write, because your ignorance exemplifies your hatred and discontent for America, as well as unclear and concise letters to the editor.

What if we advocated solutions? Come on, Brandon.
