The Apprentice responded after one of his contestants claimed he was verbally bullied by another contestant while filming.
A spokesman for the long-running BBC reality series said the contestants’ welfare is of ‘paramount importance’, saying the allegations are ‘unsubstantiated’.
According to the Mirror, candidate Navid Sole, a pharmacist, alleged he was reduced to tears after being called a ‘snake’ and a ‘clown’ by one of his fellow candidates following a task missed.
Sole was “fired” from the series earlier this week, meaning he hasn’t progressed to the next round.
In a statement provided to PA, a spokesperson for the show said the bullying allegations did not reflect the measures put in place to protect the show’s contestants.
“The welfare of contestants who take part in The Apprentice is of paramount importance,” they said. “Thorough and robust due diligence protocols are in place, which include an experienced support network for applicants who are in regular contact before, during and after filming.
“All contributors have agreed to a code of conduct that was put in place from the start to protect and prioritize their well-being. These allegations are unfounded and do not reflect the measures put in place to deal with applicants.

Shama Amin, another contestant on this series from The Apprentice, quit the show earlier this week, citing health reasons.
Amin, who has rheumatoid arthritis, said appearing on the show had become too “physically demanding” for her to continue.
