Harry sensationally says they never accused the Royals of being racist despite Meghan’s explosive claim about Archie’s skin

PRINCE Harry tonight sensationally denied ever accusing the Royal Family of being racist.

Millions of ITV viewers were stunned to see Harry distance himself from the inflammatory comments made on US TV to Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Then he and Meghan sensationally claimed that an unnamed royal had concerns about baby Archies’ skin color.

Meghan even suggested he might not become a prince amid conversations about his blackness.

But in a dramatic twist, Harry told his friend Tom Bradby in his 90 Minutes interview that they never made accusations of racism.

Bradby had asked Harry, 38, to expand on the Oprah interview in which you accused family members of racism.

Millions of viewers were left speechless when Harry replied: No, I didn’t.

Even Bradby looked stunned when the Duke of Sussex muttered blame elsewhere: the British press said so.

Harry then dug an even bigger hole by asking Bradby: Has Meghan ever mentioned she’s a racist? Bradby reiterated that Meghans claimed there were disturbing comments about Archies’ skin color.

Harry, promoting his book Spare, replied: There were – there were concerns about his skin color.

He was then asked: Wouldn’t you describe this as essentially racist?

Harry replied cryptically, I wouldn’t, not having lived with that family.

He interrupted Bradys’ attempts to question further and suggested it was unconscious bias, not racism, and that they can now learn and grow and be part of the solution, instead of the problem.

He then repeated his previous claim that he will never talk about who made the comments about Archies’ skin color.

Oprah’s explosive comments sparked a huge firestorm and led Buckingham Palace to say in a statement: The issues raised, particularly that of race, are cause for concern. Although some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family in private.

Harry was accused of mixing up his story. Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty Magazine, said: Harry’s memories certainly vary. He denies that he and Meghan have said the royal family is racist. It’s hard to believe everything he says because he keeps contradicting himself.

It was a very damaging and extremely hurtful comment to the Queen.

Harry sparked further confusion by backing Lady Susan Hussey, the former Queens lady-in-waiting who sparked a racing storm at an event at Buckingham Palace.

She resigned last month after repeatedly asking association boss Ngozi Fulani where she was really from.

However, Harry again blamed the British press, although Ms Fulani made the revelations public on her Instagram account.

Harry told Bradby: Meghan and I love Susan Hussey.

He continued: She thinks she’s tall. And I also know what she meant, she never meant any harm at all.

But the response from the British press and netizens to the stories they wrote has been appalling. Was absolutely horrible, the response.

But Harry’s claim has been disputed, with a source saying: That’s not true, Meghan didn’t have time for Lady Hussey.

Harry also blamed others for his own racist storms, when he dressed up as a Nazi at a party in 2005 and filmed himself calling an army colleague our boyfriend P** *.

He said of Harry: The interview: I was called a racist when I was 20 because of the mistakes I made.

Again blaming the media and his family, he said: I recognize from there a level of unconscious bias in me that probably stems from a combination of my upbringing, things I was exposed to and things I have seen in the media.

Harry also alleges in his conversation with Bradby that the Palace has not appointed a diversity czar. However, The Sun understands that a position called Director of Community Engagement is in place that performs the same function.

Statistics first released last year revealed that 8.5% of royal household employees are from ethnic minorities. The Palace has set itself the goal of reaching this 10% by the end of the year.

The skin color line was mentioned twice in Oprah’s highly damaging interview, sparking a backlash against the Royal Family.

Meghan was asked about her suspicions that Archie won’t become a prince, with Oprah saying: Do you think it’s because of his race?

Meghan, at the time sitting alone, said: During those months I was pregnant, around the same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, He won’t get security, he won’t get no title and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin was when he was born.

Oprah then recoils in horror and says what? adding: There is a conversation pending. Hold on. Hold on. Stop now. Meghan told Oprah that there have been several conversations with Harry about Archies’ skin color that have been passed on to him.

When Oprah asked if they were talking about your baby being dark?, Meghan replied: Potentially, and what would that mean or look like. The comments about the race sent shock waves around the world and led to accusations that the British royal family were racist.

A few days later, Prince William was forced to defend his loved ones, saying during a walk: We really are not a racist family. William and his wife Kates’ subsequent tour of the Caribbean was hampered by accusations of white privilege and colonial overtones. Harry also accused the Royal Family of unconscious bias in his six-part Netflix documentary.

The 100million series claimed racist art was in royal palaces and called the Commonwealth, which King Charles rules, Empire 2.0.

Harry’s claims that the British press was responsible for claiming the royal race do not hold up to scrutiny.

Harry Spare’s autobiography is due for publication on Tuesday, but The Sun revealed its contents after obtaining a copy which went on sale in Spain five days earlier.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
