Vince Wilfork made headlines in late December when he called out New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones for his controversial outbursts on the field.
“I’m sick of it,” Wilfork said. “…I’m sick of seeing him throw a tantrum and get attention.”
Well, the Patriots Hall of Famer changed his tune this week.
“We can’t let you have tantrums every week, and I think he’s cleaned it up,” Wilfork said during an FS1 appearance. “But one thing I take away from it is that I love his passion. It shows me he cares. It shows me he knows he has more to give and that the team has more to give.
“…I hope he got that out of his system. I think he did. I think he had a lot of fun. I’m pretty sure Bill and the coaching staff had words for him. So he drank a lot. It shows me that he is coachable. But I like the courage and the passion with which he plays.

Wilfork is correct to point out that Jones’ in-game antics waned towards the end of the season. Coincidence or not, his level of play has also improved over the past few weeks.
