AN ALLOA man who punched a pub customer in a racist attack has been jailed.
Barry Wylie, 35, of Dunvegan Court appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff’s Court on Thursday January 12th.
He admitted that on September 21, at Drysdales Bar, Drysdale Street, he assaulted a man, punching him in the face and grabbing him by the neck in a racially aggravated offence.
Tax MP Rachel Wallace said the victim was sitting at the bar when Wylie started talking to her.
Wylie then became hostile and punched the man in the face before putting him in a headlock.
Wylie had made racist comments before the assault, including calling the man a Paki c***.
Defense attorney Brian Black said his client was so drunk he had little or no memory of the events until told by police.
Sheriff Neil Bowie said: This was a totally unprovoked attack on a man who was simply having a drink at a bar.
The reality is that they have numerous convictions and had been sentenced to a community reimbursement order a week prior to this offence.
He imprisoned Wylie for 160 days.
