MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) – Attorney Jennifer Falk speaks out on behalf of the Brown family whose allegations led to the arrest of the four directors of Trinity.
On Wednesday, the district attorney’s office dropped all charges against the administrators.
Falk says the decision caused serious disappointment and frustration for the family.
They really felt like this was going to be their opportunity for the community to find out how their daughter was actually a victim at the hands of another student and trinity didn’t report this, Falk said.
Falk says that because of the layoff, they feel like they’ve been let down not only by the school, but also by the system.
The case was dropped by the AD office after Midland Police Department SGT Alonzo was determined to no longer be a credible or reliable witness.
What’s really important to them is that they affect the change and that can be kind of a small subjective change through policies and procedures with trinity, but also a bigger change whether it’s at the statewide or at least community-wide, Falk said.
When asked if they were pursuing legal action, Falk said they were looking at all options.
All charges against the directors of Trinity were dropped and the case was dismissed.
The school released a statement following the layoff saying it was pleased with the decision and was working to welcome administrators to campus as soon as possible.
