A flight passenger has gone viral on TikTok after confronting a man who she says was sending racist remarks about her to her family.

In a viral clip with 14.3 million views, Taila (taila.thecreator) decided to call his seatmate in the middle of the four-hour flight, after seeing the messages the man had sent.

He and his family talked endlessly about the woes of being stuck sitting next to black and gay people, she explained in the caption of the video. According to the TikToker, the passenger also said he hoped companies would raise airfares to weed out these people.

I want you to know I saw your text messages, and I think you’re disgusting, Taila said to the man, while filming himself. What text messages? He asked.

I won’t repeat it, but I want you to know that I know. I saw you, and I think you’re disgusting, she told him. Maybe if they raise the prices, you might not be able to afford to sit with your family, that way they won’t have to sit next to black people.

He then apologized, which the TikToker rejected. You don’t have to feel sorry for me. You’re sorry because I saw it, she said.

TikTok users in the comments praised Taila for her reaction to the passenger. I think you handled this amazingly, I don’t know what I would have done, one person wrote. You are awesome! It took courage! another applauds.

Good for you. Well managed and direct, added a third. Managed with such grace madam. You are a shining example of what the world should be like, someone else said.

In another video, the content creator revealed that the man sat next to her for the duration of the flight, despite not even thinking in my direction when the plane landed.

This is just the latest flight-related story to take over TikTok after a group of passengers voted to kick a rowdy woman off a mid-air plane.
