South Fulton Square ransacked, locals blame Rick Ross fans 95.5 WSB

SOUTH FULTON, Ga. People shopping and working at a popular plaza couldn’t believe the amount of trash left there since Saturday night.

Some believe it’s from fans who weren’t able to attend rapper Rick Ross’ Car and Bike show about three miles away.

The rapper’s attorney denies the ransacked parking lot had anything to do with the Ross event.

People who arrived and saw all the debris said it looked and smelled like landfill.

It smells. It stinks. Look at all this trash. It’s so just ugh, said Shanette Parks.

Parks must have held her nose when she saw all the litter in Kroger’s parking lot on the Old National Road and Flat Shoals in the town of South Fulton on Sunday morning.

Barber Diallo Shears cuts hair in the square and was shocked to see debris everywhere. He pointed to a basket full of garbage.

I see a nuisance. It looks like a horror. I mean, imagine if you came from another side of town. You came and saw this. You wouldn’t want to stop here. Would you? he explained.

We saw beer bottles, broken bottles, soda bottles, mugs, and other trash.

Simply unpleasant, Parks said with his nose turned up at the smell.

Kroger workers began cleaning up the mess.

People who work in the square say it was packed with people partying late into the night on Saturday. Some believe fans who couldn’t make it to rapper Rick Ross’ Car and Bike show about three miles away chose to party here.

I know Rick Ross didn’t do that. I know he didn’t do that, Angelisha Tillman said.

His guests did, Parks said. He has to look after his guests, Tillman replied.

Ross’ attorney says there’s no need for his client to go after anyone. Leron Rogers says there were a lot of cruisers in the area. But the Car and Bike show had nothing to do with the litter left in the parking lot.

Law enforcement in Fayette County, where the auto and bike show was held, and the nearby town of South Fulton, said they had no issues with the event.

Shears says he had no problem with people having fun in the parking lot. He had a problem with the mess they left behind.

I always say if you mess it up, clean it up, he said.

A BP service station employee said people continued to come in on Saturday evening using his toilet. He says they clogged his toilet and now he is looking for a plumber.

Workers at the square say they have never seen so many people here and say the Rick Ross event must have been what brought them here.

Again, Ross’ attorney says the rapper had nothing to do with what happened at the mall.
