Another current England player is under investigation by the country’s cricket council for his allegedly racist remarks on Twitter as a teenager after Ollie Robinson was suspended for similar conduct.

The old tweets of the player in question were unearthed by wisden.com, which did not reveal the identity of the cricketer as he had not reached the age of 16 at the time.

The website posted screenshots of the tweet without revealing the player’s identity.

“…… .you are dating an Asian,” the player seems to have posted with hashtags of #asianthroughhandthrough #hweollo #chinky.

The England and Wales Cricket Council (ECB) is currently investigating the matter.

“It has come to our attention that an English player has posted historical offensive material on his social media account. We are reviewing it and will make another comment in due course,” said an ECB spokesperson quoted as saying. through the website.

The offensive posts came hours after the ECB suspended Robinson pending an investigation into his racist tweets in 2012 and 2013.

Robinson, who scored 42 points and won seven wickets on his test debut against New Zealand, has already apologized for his behavior after posting his old tweets.

English Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden, however, criticized the ECB’s decision to suspend Robinson, calling it “far-fetched”. The country’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson also agreed with him.

Dowden claimed Robinson’s tweets were ten years old, “written by a teenager,” but agreed they were offensive and false.

England head coach Chris Silverwood earlier stressed the need for proper education in tackling discrimination.

“We are all wrong sometimes. It’s what we do and how we act. This is where education comes in, ”he said.
