Bill Gates opens up about divorce at ‘billionaire summer camp’, blames himself: report

Bill Gates opened up about his divorce from Melinda Gates at an annual conference exclusive to billionaires and some of the most powerful people in sports, tech and media, where a witness said the Microsoft founder was on the brink tears.

The revelation came during the Allen & Company Sun Valley conference – widely known as the “billionaire summer camp” – in Sun Valley, Idaho, The New York Post reported.

During an “off the record” question-and-answer session after discussing climate change, CNBC host Becky Quick asked Gates about his messy divorce from his 27-year-old wife.

“He confessed to screwing up,” said one participant

“He basically referred to the fact that [the divorce] was his fault. He seemed a little emotional about it. He might be on the verge of tears. ”

Another participant described it as “very moving,” according to the newspaper. Others were not impressed. A guest said Gates seemed restless throughout his stay and pushed away others who tried to talk to him.

“Bill Gates was pretty much a total [expletive]”said the participant.

Gates, who is worth $ 129 billion according to Forbes, resigned as CEO of Microsoft in 2014, but has come to the conference in the past. The scheduled appearance this year raised eyebrows as it coincided with several recent embarrassing revelations.

They included new revelations about her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein – Gates has a more extensive relationship with the pedophile than previously reported – and extramarital affairs.

FOX Business has contacted Microsoft and the Gates Foundation but has not received a response.
