Gordon Ramsay is widely known to be one of the most talented chefs in the world. The English native has made a name for himself around the world, rising from Michelin-starred chef to TV host – and even TikTok star alongside his daughter, Tilly.
While Ramsay generally cooks everything to perfection, some reviewers have a problem with his well-known method of cooking scrambled eggs.

British chef Gordon Ramsay founded his restaurant group, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, in 1997 in England. Since then he has opened several restaurants around the world, many of which have at least achieved a Michelin star. Gordon Ramsay Restaurant, arguably Ramsay’s famous spot, earned its third Michelin star in 2001.
Ramsay made his way onto American television in the early 2000s with his reality show Hells Kitchen. The show features candidates working to become Ramsay’s next chef in a series of culinary challenges, pressure tests, and more.
Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares hit television shortly thereafter, helping restaurants that were suffering, whether due to poor eating conditions or mismanagement (or both). Another popular show is MasterChef, which launched in 2010 and gives untrained amateur chefs a chance to become professionals.

Gordon Ramsay’s critics can’t stand his famous scrambled egg method
Ramsay’s skill extended far beyond television. It can perfectly fillet a fish in less than a minute; he can create an appetizing Beef Wellington in his sleep. And he became quite famous for his original method of cooking scrambled eggs.
The Ramsay Egg Method starts with eggs in a saucepan and lots of butter (to create a velvety finish). He then whips the eggs with the butter over high heat – and reminds viewers to never whisk the eggs until they are overheated. Ramsay then takes the eggs on and off the heat in increments while stirring constantly. He cautions not to season the eggs until they are almost cooked. It finishes the eggs with crème fraîche and a touch of chives.
Although the Ramsays method is well known, some people dispute his confidence in the method – and the way he soils the dish. Users took to Reddit to discuss their true feelings.
I’m sure Gordon Ramsay is a phenomenal chef, but he subscribes to a lot of old wives’ cooking stories that honestly bother me, one user wrote. The user goes on to say that salting the eggs before they’re cooked ensures they taste great and helps the protein break down for a more consistent scramble – and that the Ramsays method does not follow either of these. culinary knowledge.
It annoys me slightly when people act like it’s the only way to make scrambled eggs, another wrote.
Gordon Ramsay can’t cook eggs, someone else commented.
Still, others have defended the Ramsays method, with one user claiming it has completely changed the way I prepare them and another adding that it has improved my breakfast set. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, although it generally seems like Ramsay’s Scrambled Eggs have more lovers than haters.
