CHARLOTTE, NC – Grammy-nominated Charlotte-native rapper DaBaby faces social media criticism after video was released online showing him trying to buy candy to two teenagers who pretended they were trying to fundraise.
DaBaby jumps out of his van and the kids recognize him immediately. He asked them how much they wanted for all the candy boxes and the teens say $ 200, but DaBaby makes them admit that the actual cost of all the candy would be $ 68.
The two teenagers ended up selling the rapper two bags of candy for a dollar each. When DaBaby got back in his van, he told them he was going to give them $ 200 before they tried to push him around.
Some Twitter users felt that $ 200 would be nothing for the rapper, and he should have given it to them anyway. One person wrote, “I know you haven’t made them kids who want $ 200 from DaBaby for that integrity candy. Not when this generation of rappers flaunts their wealth in the most disgusting way in front of those same kids who support them. “
Others disagreed, with one person saying, “This is a lesson learned !! They thought they could get over it. Now they just have to get over it.
Our evening question: do you think DaBaby is wrong here?
