Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State said his government is not allergic to constructive criticism and would also support big ideas that would give impetus to the collective construction of Imo.

Addressing the Imolites over the weekend in Owerri at an expanded stakeholder meeting, Governor Uzodimma said his administration was ready to provide a good environment where every stakeholder, such as board members, administration of a business organization, would find a space to contribute to the development of our state.

Uzodimma stressed that constructive criticism should be the weapon of opposition politics, adding that differences between political parties should not be an alibi to set the state on fire.

The governor reminded the people that the absence of justice and the rule of law is an open invitation to anarchy with the corollary of self-help, loss of confidence in the government and a survival regime of the fittest. .

He assured of the determination and responsibility of his government to ensure that the rights of citizens as guaranteed by the constitution and other unwritten laws are preserved and protected.

“Under my leadership, I make a solemn commitment to ensure that this government works for everyone, regardless of local government, political party affiliation, religion or birth status. There would be a level playing field at all times for everyone and no one would be discriminated against or selectively created opportunities to favor someone or a group, ”he reassured.

While urging the people of the state to be the guardian of his brothers and to think of Imo first in everything he does or says, Uzodimma advised the politics of the opposition to be devoid of blackmail. , trade in lies or engage in acts that may create safety concerns.

He said: “We are first and foremost citizens of the IMO State with equal rights and obligations to develop the State for the benefit of all. If the state is destroyed by propaganda and rumors, it would be like shooting us in the foot, even if it destroys itself ”.

The governor stressed the need for people to work collectively to make Imo State a home of peace and grow the economy from one driven by the federal allowance to one that would run on internally generated income, resulting from improved business activities of citizens.

Uzodimma warned that the political party that remained a vehicle should not be an instrument to destabilize the system, but rather a real tool to control the government by providing strong opposition.

The governor revealed that a total of 42 roads across the state have been built and rehabilitated in the state since he took office.

He said the government had altered the landscape of the fire station and warehouse roundabout in the capital of Owerri by redeveloping them to facilitate transport.

According to the governor, before January 2020, the roads in Imo State were death traps, adding that the road revolution in the state by the current government that resulted in the discovery of Chukwuma Nwoha and the Relief Market road had changed. the past.
