IAS official in Bihar files complaint against chief minister and senior officials

Police declined to confirm whether the name of Bihar’s chief minister, Nitish Kumar, was included in the complaint.

A disgruntled IAS officer on Saturday lodged a complaint against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and several senior state officials.

Sudhir Kumar, an IAS officer from 1987, reached Gardanibagh police station around noon and was reportedly made to wait four hours before receiving an acknowledgment of his written complaint.

“These are bogus. The people named in the complaint include people from top to bottom. I will not take any names,” said the bureaucrat, who is a member of the state tax administration.

However, when asked several times whether the chief minister had been named in the case, he answered with a categorical “yes”.

Another official, whose name he admitted to mention in the complaint, was IPS officer Manu Maharaj, a former SSP from Patna who has since been promoted to the rank of DIG and is currently posted elsewhere.

The IAS officer, who is due to retire early next year, had spent three years in prison after being named in a recruitment scam until the Supreme Court granted him bail in October of last year.

He refused to divulge the details of his complaint, saying “it is about fraud and forgery of documents” and when asked how many people he had approximately named, he replied curtly “I don’t count. not “.

He said: “Look at the rule of law in Bihar where an IAS agent is held on hold for four hours. No FIR was filed. I was simply given an acknowledgment of my complaint. The same happened when I went to Shastri Nagar police station in March, with the same set of documents.

“My efforts to gather information on the status of the previous complaint, which included an RTI, were unsuccessful,” he added.

Gardanibagh SHO Arun Kumar said: “The complaint has been received and sir (the IAS officer) has received a receipt. All necessary legal actions will follow.”

He declined to confirm that the chief minister’s name was in the complaint, however, saying “it is an investigative matter. We cannot disclose its contents.”

Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav demanded a thorough investigation into the allegations made by the IAS officer for whom he also called for adequate security.

“The chief minister must be frank on this matter. He should not hesitate to have the matter fully investigated unless he has something to hide,” said the head of the RJD.

“Nitish Kumar was blaming me for not providing an explanation. Now it’s his turn,” Mr Yadav said, referring to his own name in a money laundering case four years ago. that he was deputy chief minister. , which led her boss to sever ties with the RJD and switch to the BJP-led NDA.
