Patriots vs. Buccaneers result, results: Bucs won late when Tom Brady returned to Foxborough

Tom Brady spent 20 seasons with the Patriots and won six Super Bowls, earned three NFL MVP awards and was selected for the Pro Bowl 18 times.

It was one of the most successful tasks with the team in sports history; Bradydominate in the league for most of two decades. But like all good things, it ended with Brady signing a contract with the Buccaneers in 2020 and winning the Super Bowl in his first season with the team.

On Sunday, he held his first meeting against New England after his departure, and he and Tampa Bay fled with a victory 19-17 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

After his team 17-16 4:34, Brady, as he did several times during his Patriots career, led Tampa Bay’s seven-game and 45-yard drive to Ryan Succop to set a 48-yard field goal with 1:57 left, who became the winner.

New England had one last chance to take the lead, but striker Nick Foles was 56 yards behind with 59 seconds left.

Tampa Bay set up 380 yards against the Patriots. Brady made 22 43 feeds to 269 yards. During the process, he overtook Drew Brees for most of the missed yards in NFL history.

23:28: FIELD GOAL BUCCANEERS. Tampa Bay responded with a 48-yard field goal 1:57 remaining in the fourth quarter, took the 19-17 lead at 1:57.

23:14: FIELD GOAL PATRIOTS. New England will continue their lead 17-14, 4:34 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was an eight-game, 66-yard drive from New England, leading 17-16 and 4:34 left in the fourth quarter.

23:07: FIELD GOAL BUCCANEERS. Tampa Bay advanced to the New England six-yard line but could not score a goal. The Buccaneers are now one of four in the red zone. Tampa Bay leads 16-14 with 7:58 left in the fourth quarter.

10:50 p.m .: TOUCHED PATRIOTS. New England lead again 14-13. Jones threw a 1-yard touch to Jonnu Smith’s tight end, ending a seven-game 77-yard drive for the Patriots.

Third Quarter: Tampa Bay 13, New England 7

New England had only six games in the third quarter. Brady has made a 17/32 pass with 202 yards and zero touches. New England has a total of 204 yards and the first 15 downs.

22:39: TOUCHDOWN BUCCANEERS. Tampa Bay will continue to lead 13-7 after eight games, a 52-yard drive, and Ronald Jones ’eight-yard ground. 22:28: New England stumbled in the second half on their first run, though Tampa Bay then went three in and out. It also won three and won its first half.

21:21: TOUCHED PATRIOTS. Jones finds a tight Hunter in Henry’s 11-yard touch, Henry’s first season. It covered an 11-game 74-yard drive to New England during 8:28. New England lead 7-3, with 8:28 remaining in the second quarter.

21:07: Succop left a 36-yard field goal for a 10-player 48-yard drive from Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers advanced to New England’s 18-yard line before Brady threw consecutive incomplete passes. Tampa Bay still leads 3-0.

First quarter: Tampa Bay 3, New England 0

Brady made a 9/16 pass at 104 yards in the first quarter. Tampa Bay leads New England in total races (148-32) and has the first seven downs compared to the Patriots ’two. Jones made a 5/9 pass at 40 yards and one interception.

20.56: Jones threw his fourth abduction of the season, giving Tampa Bay football back to its 34-yard line.

20.53: FIELD GOAL BUCCANEERS. Tampa Bay scores the first point of the game with Ryan Succop’s 29-yard field goal. It limited the Buccaneers ’10 games to a 71-yard drive at 3:53 p.m. Tampa Bay leads 3-0.

20.48: Brady overtook Mike Evans, the recipient of a 28-yard pass, and overtook former Saints quarterback Drew Brees in the most overrun yards in NFL history (80359).

20.40: New England attacked in its possession three times. Novice, quarterback Mac Jones has made a 4/6 pass at 23 yards and has been sacked once. In the first quarter still no points 8:42.
