Blue Jays takeaways: Hyun-Jin Ryu gets his career back against Orioles. Bo Bichette climbs the ladder

It had been a rough few weeks for Hyun-Jin Ryu, who the Blue Jays gave $ 80 million (USA) a couple of winters ago to be an ace to his staff.

The Big Left paid off the first installment last season and finished third in the American League Cy Young poll, starting this season very well with 2.62 ERA during his first 10 starts. But since the calendar was turned to June, it had been a different story.

Ryu had allowed at least three races in five of his last six starts on Wednesdays, allowing eight home runs with only 35 1/3 innings and 5.35 ERA.

Things looked like they were starting to turn around on June 26 in Baltimore when he took a two-hit shutter in the seventh inning, but the Orioles got him four runs in the seventh and then Seattle dropped him after just four innings on Canada Day, scoring five runs with seven hits in Ryu’s season worst at the beginning of.

On Wednesday night, however, the 34-year-old began to look old-fashioned: keeping the batsmen in balance, hitting problems when he needed to, and bumping into people for the first time in a long time.

Ryu hit the first half side around one double double, and each breeze came on a different field. He got lead beater Cedric Mullins in the cutter, Trey Mancin in substitution and Ryan Mountcastle in the curved ball. Southpaw finished seven strokes in his five shifts – a night shortened by a combination of Maryland’s bubbling heat and very comfortable Jays lead.

The seven Ks corresponded to the highest level of the season and were the most in eight starts for Ryu, which is a strong sign that he might get back on track.

Only 159. in his career game, Bichette created his 99th and 100th runs. Jay had never reached 100 so quickly at the beginning of his career. Jays ’all-time leader in almost every offensive class, Carlos Delgado, had set a record earlier when he had raised to 100th in his 164th RBI game.

The home tour was also the 200th hit of Bichette’s young career – no one Jay has ever reached that mark faster – and his three hits gave him the top 30 multiplayer matches in the Premier League this season.

These hits also raised Bichette’s batting average to .295 per year, which is pretty good since exactly a month ago he only hits .262.

He led the frame with a small loop to the right field and pushed it double, went third on the field and scored a goal with a medium volleyball to the left.

On his wheels – Hernandez is 89th among sprint speed jumpers – he turned into a single single run. At lower speeds, the runner will never get off the start.

At the bottom of the game, Hernandez participated in his throwing arm, firing an absolute laser from the right-right field to double Austin Wynns ’home album.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. usually gets some of the lion’s attention up to the big arm, and with eight field aids he has twice as much as Hernandez, but Teoscar’s arm is not taken for granted. He hasn’t had a chance to show it so often this season, but he failed by wiping out Wynns, limiting a very productive inning to the right Jays field player.
