‘Progressive’ Democrats’ critical race theory version could bring Donald Trump back to power

Democrats or anyone who cares about their future must have been extremely worried about the outcome of the Virginia election in recent weeks. U.S. President Joe Biden easily won the state in the presidential poll in November 2020; 11 months later, he lost 10 percent. The mid-terms seem dangerously close. Donald Trump probably thinks he can win again without cheating.

Republicans have a practical strategy for regaining power, and it’s pretty simple. They just need to remind moderate voters what left -wing Democrats want, and then spice it up a bit.

Glenn Youngkins ’successful campaign to become Governor of Virginia has shown other Republican candidates that above all, exploiting critical race theory (CRT) fears pays dividends.

The CRT has been described as a way of exploring how racism has shaped American public policy and institutions. Opponents call it a divisive argument that mixes ethnic minority communities against white people.

For polemicists, the CRT is resistant to the strict definition. Fox Newss rent-a-gob Tucker Carlson admitted last week that he didn’t know either: I didn’t think what critical race theory was, to be completely honest.

Of course, that didn’t stop him from blabbering on about it; telling Republican voters what he thinks it might mean: anti-white racism in schools, attacks on the American way of life, and the weakening of authority.

The other commentators on the right are already stacked as well. There is also a political backlash. In parts of Tennessee, right-wingers want to use anti-CRT law to remove books about Martin Luther King from the curriculum. But it’s not just right-wingers who are to blame.

Republicans ’use of the CRT as an electoral weapon is effective because much of what they say is true. Some progressive Democrats are promoting a version of the CRT that drives away moderate voters.

Many parents are unhappy that trials and tests are demonized as racially biased. They are concerned when education officials in New York City suggest that the objectivity of individualism and worship of the written word are hallmarks of a culture of white-supremacy.

They do not value school posters reminding students to evaluate their privileges (the list includes white, Christian, heterosexual, athletic, and citizen characteristics).

There is no doubt the democratic political strategist James Carville is about what caused the poor performance of his parties in the recent elections.

The police defense in reaction to George Floyd’s murder has gotten thumbs down from (black and white) voters in Minneapolis that is hardly surprising given the rising levels of theft and violent crime in the city, where black people are more likely to be victims. As one black listener said on National Public Radio: Crimes outside the chain here. At the George Floyds memorial itself, there were at least seven hunts. Members of this gang, not the police.

The social research group More in Common published a U.S. public opinion survey last year that showed a large majority of every group, including black Americans, thought political correctness was a problem.

The exception is those identified as progressive activists who make up only 8 percent of the population, and are likely to be white, well-educated, and wealthy.

This elite group talks a lot about equality. But by promoting their version of the CRT, they can achieve the opposite and let Trump party again.
