Former President Donald Trump has publicly lashed out against Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds in a post on social media on Monday, following a New York Times report that detailed the Republican governor’s close relationship with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump’s closest competitor in the GOP presidential primary.

I opened up the position of Governor for Kim Reynolds, and when she got caught, I ENDORSED her, held big Rallies, and she won, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. Today, he wants to remain NEUTRAL. I don’t invite him to events! DeSanctus drops 45 points!

Reynolds said he would not formally endorse any of the candidates in the Republican primary, keeping with the practice of his state’s previous governors, who hold first-in-the-nation caucuses. However, the governor appeared with DeSantis at each of the three events he hosted in the state, including his first in-person campaign event, where he described his fellow governor as a candidate who showed us that he can, and all you have to do is look at his record.
