As big of a supporter he may have been to the former president, Republican gubernatorial candidate Hirsh Singh failed to secure Donald Trump’s endorsement for Tuesday’s premiere.
A message dated June 4 on Trump’s stagnant “Save America” appeared on social media with a message from the former president calling Jack Ciattarelli a RINO.
“Jack said I was a disgrace to America. He will be embarrassed on Tuesday,” the message said.
Senior advisor Jason Miller Monday called the post “fake” and said the former president did not endorse anyone in the New Jersey Republican primary. 12 minutes later, Singh said on Twitter that the ad was a “distraction that is damaging our campaign.”

“As I said on the radio in NJ this morning, this press release is a photoshop photo spread by activists from rival Facebook campaigns,” Singh said.
Singh called the show to New Jersey’s Bill Spadea 101.5 and claimed the ad was the work of main Republican opponent Phil Rizzo.
“That man is tarnishing my name,” Singh said.
Singh is a strong Trump supporter. His campaign signs include a stamp that says “100% pro Trump candidate.” In the only gubernatorial debate of the primary, Singh said he was inspired by Trump to enter politics while Ciattarelli sometimes criticized him.
“Donald Trump was the greatest president of my life and perhaps for the lives of many people, all alive today,” said Singh, who likened Ciattarelli to Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney, who said they should be thrown out for stabbing behind Trump.
Ciattarelli said Trump will remain the standard-bearer for the Republican Party, which has always been true of former presidents and governors, including Chris Christie in New Jersey, until a new candidate from the party wins that office. .
Ciattarelli said he did not support Trump for president in 2015 because he supported Christie, believing it would be good if the New Jersey governor became president. But in statements at the time, Ciattarelli had no qualms in his denunciation of Trump, calling him a “charlatan” and a disgrace.
Rizzo in early May posted a photo of him with Trump at a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago golf club. Singh posted a video on his Twitter account that ended with Rizzo saying, “I voted third party in 2016.” The context of the video or its source is not clear in the tweet.
“Wednesday night, in Mar-a-Lago, I remembered what happens when people rally behind a candidate against a corrupt constituency. New Jersey 2021 could be a remake of 2016 if ….. WE ARE PEOPLE! ”Rizzo said on social media after the event. He did not say if he had spoken to Trump about a possible endorsement.
Rizzo conducted a fundraiser at the Trump National golf club in Colts Neck on March 25. Spadea was the event leader.
