Selena Gomez Wear a Wedding Dress in a New Photo

Father of the Bride fans, pay attention! It seems that Steve Martin and Martin Short, who starred in the 1991 hit film, are officially getting married again. This time, however, they won’t be playing the father of the bride’s stressed-out George Banks and eccentric wedding planner Franck Eggelhoffer. While filming the third season of their hit Hulu series Only Murder in the Buildingthe duo appears to be joining co-star Selena Gomez as she prepares for the wedding.

Yesterday, March 21, 2023, Martin took to his Twitter page to share two behind-the-scenes photos from the set. In his first post, Martin, who plays Charles-Haden Savage, is seen wearing a classic black tuxedo while holding hands with Gomez, who plays Mabel Mora. In the photo, Gomez is wearing a strapless lace and tulle wedding gown with a full skirt and flowing veil. The caption read, “Guess what just happened!” She then shared additional photos of Gomez with Short, who plays Oliver Putnam, in a black velvet tuxedo which she paired with a red scarf and boutonnière; in short, Gomez added white, wrist-length gloves to her look. The caption read, “Turns out this happened too.”

Fans were quick to note the similarities between the show and the film. Based on Peoplea Twitter user replied to Martin’s post saying, “The the bride’s neighbor.” Another wrote, “Isn’t there a movie called … oh yeah, I get it. Congratulations 🫶🎉🎈”

Gomez also shared a photo of an unforgettable day on set. In her post, she is seen in the same wedding dress sitting in her trailer. “I have no details. Just a normal day at work,” he wrote on Instagram. The snaps gave fans a closer look at Mabel’s interpretation of the wedding style. Her sleek update, classic ball gown, and dangling earrings were paired with a bold red lip and Dr. White martens, a nod to the character’s typically edgier fashion choices.

This isn’t the first time the comedic duo has repeated some similarities to their hit Father of the Bride role. In December 2022, Martin and Short co-hosted the show Saturday Night Live and parodying their hit film with fake trailers for Father of the Bride Chapter 8. Based on CNNGomez also joins the cast as Annie’s wedding performer, who is hired by Franck for her big day.

Although there is no word yet on when the third season will be Only Murder in the Building going back to Hulu, we know that the second season ends with a jump roughly one year into the future. During that time, did Mabel find a love interest she was ready to marry when the show resumed? If these new photos are any indication, a major storyline may be coming.
