Call of Duty fans now have official news for the franchise’s upcoming installment, Vanguard. In addition to the reveal announcement and release date, players were also able to learn more about Call of Duty: Vanguard Open Beta.
The existence of Call of Duty: Vanguard has been known for some time now, and with the official reveal following the Vanguard event in Warzone, players can finally look forward to an official date.
Players also got new information regarding the Open Beta, so for those looking to give a new Call of Duty a try early on, here’s how to do it.
How to get access to Call of Duty: Vanguard Open beta
As in previous years, the Vanguard Open Beta will be available for download from your platform store upon release. PlayStation players will be given early access to the beta version, and dates will be announced very soon.
“Open Beta Early Access: Pre-order any release (digital or physical) before Call of Duty: Vanguard Beta and you’ll get early access to the Open Beta, first on PlayStation. Specific dates will be revealed in the coming weeks.”
Players will also be able to obtain beta codes through the CDL tournaments that will take place this weekend, August 22.
When will the open beta be released?
We don’t have an exact Beta release date yet, but we do have an official Vanguard release date, which is November 5th.
If that release date proves correct, using Black Ops Cold War as a guide, players can expect the Vanguard Open Beta to open around the first week in October.
How big will a beta download be?
Again, it’s too early to get the exact size of the Vanguard Open Beta, but there have been some reports that the Xbox version of the beta will be around 50GB, which makes it a fairly large file.
When the beta version was released last year last October, it weighed in at 31GB on PS4, 21GB on Xbox One, and 40GB on PC. Obviously, this time around, it will also drop on next-generation consoles, which may affect the size.
It looks like more and more Call of Duty Vanguard news will be dropping in the coming weeks, and we’ll update this story with any other updates.
