Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have responded to Jeremy Clarkson’s apology for his “disgraceful” column in The Sun newspaper, claiming he was left feeling “sick” after the backlash.

The former Top Gear host claimed to have sent the couple an apology email on Christmas Day, and claimed to be “terribly sorry” for the language in his column, adding: “I’m really sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles of my head. This is me raising my hand. It’s Simple guilt with bells.”

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex insisted Clarkson wrote “just for Prince Harry” and dismissed the presenter’s claims that he wrote the column “in a hurry”, accusing him of “a long pattern of writing articles that spread hate speech, dangerous conspiracy theories and misogyny”.

In the article, the former Top Gear presenter said he despised the Duchess on a “cellular level”, adding that he had dreamed of the day she would be forced to parade naked across Britain while a crowd chanted “shame” and threw “poo” at her.

Handler quipped: “Niecy Nash-Betts nominated for Dahmer. Dahmer became the third highest watched show on Netflix, totaling a billion hours watched, which, apparently, is about the same amount of time we’ll have to listen to Prince Harry talk about his penis.” The cold one.”

After the audience laughed, she said of Harry’s allegations: “That’s enough already.”

1673923260 What was the Sussexes and Clarkson’s initial reaction to the Sun column?

Ahead of the joint statement from the Sussexes and Jeremy Clarkson’s comments on Monday about his much-maligned column in The Sun, he and Prince Harry previously spoke on the subject. Here is what they said:

For their part, the couple issued a statement describing the newspaper’s “sincere” apology as “nothing more than a public relations stunt” and accusing it of profit and exploitation of “hatred, violence and misogyny.”

Prince Harry later told ITV’s Tom Bradby: “What [Clarkson] He was awful, hurtful and cruel to my wife, he said. But it also encourages other people across the UK and around the world, especially men, to go and think that it’s okay to treat women in this way.”

The book claimed that Queen Elizabeth pressured Meghan Markle to give her opinion on Trump in 2016

Among the lesser covered revelations in Prince Harry’s book is the claim that Queen Elizabeth II put the future Duchess of Sussex on the spot on their first meeting by asking her what she thought of Donald Trump when the latter was a candidate for the US presidency.

He described the first meeting between the late queen and future duchess as “all very interesting” and noted that the meeting took place in late 2016, just before Mr Trump’s victory.

“I asked Grandma Meg what she thought of Donald Trump,” he wrote, adding that Meghan “thought politics was a no-win game” and described how she subtly changed the subject to Canada, where she was living while Suits was filmed.

In response, he said the late Queen “stared” and replied to Meghan: “I thought you were American,” to which she replied: “I am, but I’ve been living in Canada for seven years for work.” He writes: “Grandma seemed happy. UK Parliament. Big fine.”

Americans welcomed Prince Harry with open arms. Will Spear spoil the love story?

In the heyday of the 1990s American teen magazine — by the way, when Meghan Markle was a schoolgirl in California — it wasn’t uncommon to see the saddled face of Prince William peering out of glossy covers alongside gorgeous Hollywood shots, writes Sheila Flynn.

Girls from coast to coast have debated the merits of marrying William or Prince Harry, and dream of the royal weddings they’ll one day have when one of the princes plucks them from obscurity.

When Harry leaves for the United States with his American bride, the novel bears the hallmarks of America’s very institution: rebellion. self-reliance. re-invention. romantic.

They saw the fairy tale they wished to come true before their eyes, and the teen mag–along with much of the rest of America–welcomed Harry and Meghan with open arms.

But two days after the release of Harry Spear’s memoir, a text message to a group of 40-something high school friends — women who now live across the country with different politics and professions — prompted a fast and furious barrage of responses.

Prince Harry suggests the royal family may thank him ‘in five or ten years’ time

In case you missed it, last week, Prince Harry suggested that the royal family thank him for his diary “in five or ten years.”

In an interview with The Telegraph published on January 13, journalist Bryony Gordon wrote that Harry “accepts that any chance of reconciliation” with his family is “unlikely at this time”.

He said: “What I realized is that you don’t make any friends, especially within your family, because everyone has learned to accept that trauma [as] part of life. How dare you, as an individual, talk about it, because this makes all of us feel really uncomfortable? Well, you may not like me right now, but maybe you’ll thank me in five or 10 years. “
