Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., stormed Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Calif., on Wednesday for making “outrageous and clearly false statements” about the United States and Israel.

Sherman criticized his colleague for a recent tweet in which the congresswoman claimed that America and Israel had committed “unimaginable atrocities” along the lines of the Taliban and Hamas.

Ilhan Omar says America, like Hamas and the Taliban, has committed ‘unimaginable occultations’

Sherman — a prominent Democrat who has served since 1997 — set Omar on fire in a press release responding to the second-term representative’s tweet, saying that “noticeable” is Omar’s admission that Hamas is “guilty of ‘unimaginable atrocities’.”

“It is not news that Ilhan Omar will make disgraceful and clearly false statements about America and Israel,” Sherman wrote. What is remarkable is that she admits that Hamas is guilty of ‘unimaginable atrocities’.

“It is time for all critics of Israel to condemn Hamas,” Sherman said. It is time for all people of good will to reject any moral parity between the United States and Israel on the one hand, and Hamas and the Taliban on the other.

Omar’s office did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment.

Known for being part of a so-called “squad” of new and progressive House members, Omar posted a controversial tweet on Monday in which the United States and Israel brought together the United States and Israel directly with terrorist organizations, prompting a backlash from Sherman.

“We have seen unimaginable atrocities committed by the United States, Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan and the Taliban,” the congressman wrote. “I asked [Secretary of State Antony Blinken] Where people are supposed to turn to justice.”

The former Minnesota House member is no stranger to controversy.

Israel was recently accused of committing “war crimes” after days of conflict between Israel and Hamas, which saw thousands of rockets fired indiscriminately at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

“We should all be grateful that the ceasefire will prevent more civilians and children from being killed,” Omar tweeted in May. “But what now? We need accountability for every war crime committed.”

“We have to stop committing crimes against humanity while doing nothing to end the occupation,” she said.
