Miami-Dade County Courthouse has been closed after engineers revealed “safety concerns” following the fatal collapse of a beachfront building in nearby Surfside, according to authorities.

Florida Historic Court employees will begin working from home Monday after inspectors identified safety concerns on various floors, County Sheriff Daniela Levine Cava said in a statement Friday.

An engineering review was undertaken for the building, which was constructed in 1928, after the collapse of the South Champlain Tower on June 24 raised concerns about the condition of the structures in the coastal area.

“Some structural concerns have been identified, some pillars that need to be done, some support work that needs to be done,” Levin Cava said of the court, according to CNN.

“So we hope it can be done quickly and we can get back to normal operations in the courtroom.”

The mayor said work will focus on the 16th floor and above in the 28-story building, which was designated a landmark in 1985.

Rescue efforts continue at the site of the fatal apartment collapse in Surfside.

Levin Kava said court proceedings will continue remotely.

The announcement came as responders continue to examine the rubble at the site of the collapsed apartment, where as of Sunday morning 90 people were confirmed dead, with 31 still missing.
