Michigan Football has plenty of options for QB recruiting in 2025

Michigan football may land a five-star QB commitment this week, but the Wolverines are still working on the 2025 class as well.

Regardless of the level of football, the quarterback is the most important position and it is also the most important position in recruiting.

As far as Michigan football goes, quarterback recruiting has been a bit of a disappointment since JJ McCarthy committed back in the 2021 class.

Michigan landed two quarterbacks in the 2022 class, but neither ranked in the top 100, or really even close, and the Wolverines saw five-star Dante Moore out of Detroit in 2023.

It looks like Jadyn Davis will commit to Michigan football this week. That would be huge, but quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell isn’t resting on his laurels — he worked with a few highly touted 2025 quarterbacks last weekend.

Michigan football 2025 QB recruiting update

Bryce Underwood visited last week and is atop the charts as the nation’s No. 1 player in the 247 Sports Combine rankings. However, Ryan Montgomery, Cutter Boley and Stone Saunders are other names to watch.

Montgomery has been to Michigan football several times at this point, and the Wolverines are right up there with Ohio State near the top of his recruitment.

However, Saunders is another guy who will be a highly regarded four-star prospect, and he had positive things to say about his weekend trip with coach Campbell and the Wolverines. He currently ranks 180th in the On3 industry rankings and 15th among QBs.

The Wolverines also hosted 247 sports composite five-star quarterback Cutter Boley over the weekend. He’s been on campus a few times now with Michigan football. Here’s the second-best quarterback in the composite rankings said UM’s Steve Wiltfong:

“Michigan really impressed me this weekend too! I really liked Coach Campbell and how he saw the game! I’ve been to Michigan a few times now and every time I go back I love it! Michigan and Notre Dame took big strides this weekend.

Notre Dame also hosts Boley, who has more than 20 offers, and there’s no shortage of competition to land his commitment.

However, it is wise to have options. Michigan football has been too focused on one target in 2023 and 2024. Now, in 2025, the Wolverines have plenty of talented targets to choose from at the top position.
