Odisha to set up table tennis academies in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced the establishment of table tennis academies in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and TT training centers across the state.

Patnaik said this when a delegation from the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the International Table Tennis Federation Foundation met him on Sunday.

The Chief Minister informed the delegation about the state government’s decision to set up Table Tennis Academies at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Table tennis practice centers will also be established in all indoor halls in the state. He sought their help for training programs for coaches and hosting international TT events in Odisha.

The delegation included Petra Sorling, President of the ITTF and ITTF Foundation, Leandro Olvech, Director of the ITTF Foundation, Saurabh Mishra, Program Manager of the ITTF Foundation, Julia Tappendorf, Program Coordinator of the ITTF Foundation.

Srling presented the Table Tennis Development Manual to the Prime Minister on the use of table tennis for social change.

Patnaik lauded the ITTF’s efforts to promote table tennis in the state and the country and assured them of all support.

An official statement issued by the CMO said that the delegation expressed their joy and desire to be in Odisha and work closely with the government and support the state’s efforts to grow the sport of table tennis.
