TEMPE, Ariz. UCLA women’s tennis earned ITA All-Academic Team recognition for the sixth consecutive year on Monday from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Individually, six Bruins were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The awards were given for the 2022-23 academic year only and did not take cumulative grade point averages (GPAs) into account. To be eligible for All-Academic honors, a team must have a GPA of 3.2 or better. Scholar athletes had GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
Caroline Goldberg and Sasha Vagramov finished their senior campaigns as four-time Scholar-Athletes. Vanessa Ong came a triple tribute Open Catanzarite joined the club for the second time. At the end of the list were the Freshmen Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer and Fangran Tian. Each of the six student-athletes has had the surgery every year they have been eligible.
Catanzarite, Ong, Vagramov and Elise Wagle received academic honors in May when they were each named to the Division I College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s Tennis Team.
