(CBS Local) – After the final tournament of the New Year’s final tournament, UCLA will be the CEO of the 2021 CBS Sports Classic in December. The Bruins will face North Carolina and new coach Hubert Davis in Ohio State and Kentucky in a double-headed second game.
The matches announced by CBS on Thursday mark the eighth year of the event, which has traditionally brought these four basketball forces together every year in a different location since 2014. This year’s matches are a rematch of the 2019 CBS Sports Classic as Ohio State knocked down Kentucky 71. -65 and North -Carolina dropped UCLA 74-64.

This year’s venue will be announced later, but fans interested in participating can sign up to receive email notifications of ticket availability at www.cbssportsclassic.com/liput. Fans who sign up for ads can get pre-sales on an exclusive basis.
Each of the four teams is currently performing CBSSports.com Premier Top 25 and 1 compiled by university basketball analyst Gary Parrish. Bruins is ranked No. 2 in his career in the country, followed by Kentucky (12), Ohio State (18) and North Carolina. Bruins got a new impetus to their line-up on Thursday with the announcement that top scorer Johnny Juzang has removed his name from consideration NBA Draft and return to the program.
Tar rates hold the best record in the CBS Sports Classic, going 5-2 over the previous seven editions. The Buckeyes are second with a 4-3 record, followed by Kentucky (3-4) and UCLA (2-5). More information about the event can be found at www.cbssportsclassic.com.
