Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden had come in support of head coach Justin Langer and condemned anything said against Langer’s favor. Justin Langer took over the team as head coach when the team was in disarray after the ball tampering scandal and slowly rebuilt the team.
Langer and Hayden have been among the most famous opening partners in the cricket test and they have had great success at the top of the list for the Australian team. Langer has suffered severe blows from most ends after Australia’s poor performance lately against the West Indies and Bangladesh.

Matthew Hayden on SEN’S Radio said that people’s opinions on Langer’s future as Australia’s head coach are now very respectful. He wanted reporters to know that Langer deserves a lot of respect for the passion and love he has shown for the country. He was specifically disappointed by Australian chief journalist Pete Lalor’s speculation about Langer’s future.
“A lot of the content that comes out on this is downright disrespectful to a guy who has played over 100 test matches. Even that facetious discussion between the senior players last night in which Pete Lalor (Australia’s chief cricket reporter) was obviously poised to decide Justin Langers’ future, ”Matthew Hayden told SEN’S Radio.

Matthew Hayden reminded people that Australia is still in a very good position in the ICC rankings and there is no need for so many allegations on Langer just yet. He added that Langer’s passion for the country and his being a legend in the game should ward off criticism.
“Hmm, hello! What about the meeting that you are No.3 in the Cricket Test and No.3 in the ODI Ranking and No.6 in the T20 Ranking? Waste more energy and time thinking about it than discussing a guy who is a legend of the game and who is so passionate about Australian cricket and culture, ”he added.
